Nico is a passionate professional with a diverse background and experience in consulting and different sectors (pharmaceutical, professional services and manufacturing). His deep belief in the combination of a strong, focused strategy combined with the power of cross-functional collaboration and the right culture has enabled him to develop a very diverse, global career.
Nico has started as General Manager UK & Ireland on September 1st, 2024. In this role he will bring innovative medicines to patients in UK & Ireland, work with internal and external partners to elevate the lives of people living with severe diseases through the medicines UCB has today and in its pipeline.
In his previous role, Nico was heading up the Bone Health business unit in UCB globally focusing on reducing the risk of fragility fractures for people living with osteoporosis. Nico has built up a career of 28 years with a mix of consulting and business. Nico has worked and lived in 3 continents (Europe – Brussels, United States – Atlanta, Asia-Pacific – Shanghai) and has been leading large international teams in a variety of roles. Prior to his time at UCB, Nico has 12 years of international consulting experience with Accenture and Hudson as well as worked for Randstad (Amsterdam) and Munters (Liège).
Nico was educated in Brussels, Belgium, and has a Masters degree in Financial and Economical Sciences, specialization Human Resources Management. In 2014 he obtained an Executive MBA – General Management Program, at Harvard Business School.
Nico is Belgian, married to Kristina and is father of two girls (Noémie & Maxine). He is a sports adept with focus on triathlon and golf.
