Industry principles for diversity in clinical trials
The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA) and the Association of Clinical Research Organisations (ACRO) have published industry principles for improving diversity and inclusion in clinical trials. Since both IFPMA and ACRO are international bodies, their principles are purposefully top-line in detail to ensure they can be applied as widely as possible. Yet, they are still specific enough to inform and guide the industry’s efforts to make clinical research more diverse and inclusive (see best practice case studies).
As an IFPMA member, the ABPI contributed to the development of these principles.
